RPC launches Managing Partner election process

RPC – the City-headquartered law firm – has launched an election process following news that Jonathan Watmough, the firm's Managing Partner, has retired from the firm.

The election will be held in late January 2017, with the new Managing Partner assuming his or her role at the beginning of February. In the meantime, Head of Commercial Tim Anderson and Head of Insurance James Miller will be operating as de facto joint Managing Partners.

Jonathan Watmough said: "This is a natural time for me to move on. I've been at the firm 25 years this year, the last 10 at the top, and it is time to both try something new and to give someone else their chance. I have achieved everything I wanted to achieve and I am delighted to leave the firm in excellent health."

Jonathan joined RPC as a trainee in 1991, became a Corporate Partner in 1998, before being elected Chairman of the Management Board in 2006. He has been Managing Partner since 2008. During his tenure, the firm has seen exceptional growth and modernisation, winning many awards.
