RPC hires Hong Kong employment lawyer for its market-leading Commercial Disputes practice in Asia
International law firm RPC has hired Employment lawyer Andrea Randall as Partner to join the firm's Commercial Disputes practice in Asia.
Andrea Randall joins RPC from the boutique law firm Gall, where she was known as one of Hong Kong's go-to employment lawyers, handling high profile, complex contentious and non-contentious employment matters for both employers and employees. Randall is ranked in all major legal directories including: Legal 500, Chambers & Partners, AsiaLaw and the Doyle’s Guide. In the most recent directories, she was described by her contemporaries and clients as “attentive and knowledgeable”, that "she is technical but understands the commercial side" and was praised for her "deep understanding, knowledge and experience in the employment field".
Andrea's arrival is a further boost for the firm's Hong Kong office, and its wider Asia-Pacific disputes offering; as well as adding extra bench strength to its well-regarded employment practice in the UK. Andrea will also work closely with RPC's Singapore office and their employment offering, through RPC Premier Law. She is also regularly instructed on regulatory matters, complementing the existing practice led by Jonathan Crompton in Hong Kong.
Commenting on Andrea's arrival, Managing Partner Asia, Antony Sassi said: "Having someone of Andrea's calibre join our Hong Kong office is a real win for both our firm and our clients.
"Employment is a new practice area for us in Hong Kong but an obvious one that strategically makes sense given the strength of the team in the UK, our capability in Singapore and the ability to plug a lawyer with Andrea's impressive credentials into our institutional clients here in the region.
"RPC has built a reputation for being a global disputes powerhouse and our Asia referral practice has gone from strength to strength over the last few years. Andrea's arrival will further bolster our credentials as the "go to" referral firm for disputes work given her fantastic reputation in the local market and her strong relationships with a number of law firms, not only in Hong Kong, but across the Asia region"
Adding to this, Patrick Brodie, who leads our UK employment practice, said: "Andrea is a wonderful complement to RPC's well-regarded employment practice and her arrival speaks to our growing international strength. It's a reflection our ambitions, culture and work that Andrea, one of the regional market's leading employment lawyers, will be part of our team and our firm. By Andrea's arrival we draw together ever more strongly our capabilities across employment, regulatory, investigations and disputes, across all our offices."
Commenting on her arrival, Andrea said: “I am delighted to be joining the RPC team and working alongside some seriously talented lawyers. RPC has a strong reputation in the market and I’m excited to contribute to its continued growth of the Asia.”
Andrea joined RPC's Hong Kong office on the 25 January.
