RPC earns top ranking for Crypto-Asset Disputes in the UK
International law firm RPC has been ranked for the first time in Chambers and Partners 2024 FinTech Guide, achieving Band 1 for Crypto-Asset Disputes in the UK.
Partner Dan Wyatt has been individually ranked in Band 1, as has Partner Sarah Mountain, achieving Band 2 for 2024. Wyatt and Mountain are two of only eight lawyers currently recognised by Chambers for this work in the UK.
RPC is at the forefront of crypto and digital asset disputes, with the firm being a founding member of CFAAR – the Crypto Fraud and Asset Recovery network. Comprising legal professionals, forensic accountants, corporate intelligence officers and asset recovery experts, CFAAR has brought together some of the world’s leading names in crypto disputes and advisory with the purpose of developing and sharing best practice in this rapidly evolving space.
Remarking on the team ranking, Dan Wyatt said: "RPC has been at the cutting edge of crypto and digital asset disputes work in recent years and it's fantastic to see this recognised by Chambers. It's our expertise and interest in this area that was behind the conception and launch of CFAAR in 2021, which continues to go from strength to strength.
"Our work in this space draws on the expertise of team members in commercial disputes, civil fraud, competition, IP, regulatory and insurance, working closely with our colleagues in Hong Kong and Singapore. Many congratulations to all involved for achieving this important and well-deserved recognition".
Sarah Mountain added: "To be recognised for our crypto-asset dispute work is incredible and to go in at Band 1 exceeds all expectations. Alongside the CFAAR network and industry work that Dan's been working on in recent years, our IP team has supported various clients in the cryptocurrency space from exchanges and token issuers to individuals on range of high-profile disputes. The ranking is a testament to all of that work."
Clients describe RPC as "a very impressive outfit" and "particularly adept at finding new, relevant and previously undiscovered evidence" in the 2024 FinTech Guide.
