RPC celebrates double win at the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2025
International law firm RPC has been recognised at the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2025, winning Deal of the Year and the Wellbeing Award. The firm was also shortlisted for Deal of the Year (MOH Nippon), Customer Focus, Sustainability, Knowledge Management, and Marketing & Business Development, reflecting the depth of expertise, innovation, and client-focused excellence across the firm.
Deal of the Year
RPC advised on the formation of Women’s Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL), a significant milestone in the evolution of women’s football in England. The deal saw ownership of the Barclays Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Championship transferred from The Football Association to WPLL, giving clubs greater control over the future of the game.
RPC also supported WPLL in securing a record-breaking multi-year sponsorship renewal with Barclays, the highest-value sponsorship agreement in women’s domestic football history. These developments provide long-term financial stability and a framework for growth in the sport.
Led by Partners Neil Brown and Josh Charalambous, the RPC team worked through complex regulatory and corporate challenges to bring this transition to completion.
Wellbeing Award
RPC’s approach to wellbeing goes beyond policies and initiatives - it is embedded in how we work. Ambition for our People, launched in 2023, is shaped by direct employee feedback and focuses on four core areas: lifelong learning, inclusive empowerment, balance and initiative, and purpose and belonging.
A range of practical support is in place, including:
- Unmind: A global wellbeing platform offering personalised support and therapist consultations.
- Mental Health First Aiders: Trained colleagues providing confidential support.
- Peppy: Specialist assistance for fertility, pregnancy, parenthood, menopause, and men’s health.
- Work+Family Space: Backup childcare, elderly care support, and resources for work/life balance.
- R;pple Suicide Prevention Software: A first in the legal sector, directing employees towards support when needed.
- 24/7 employee assistance helpline and Lawcare support.
The impact of these initiatives is clear: 68% of employees have engaged in career development workshops, 70% use the learning platform, and more than 471 hours have been dedicated to community initiatives.
