RPC has hired restructuring and insolvency partner Paul Bagon to work across its commercial, corporate and disputes practices. Paul has spent the majority of his career practising insolvency and restructuring law in leading international law firms including Weil, Gotshal & Manges. He has worked on some of the largest and most high profile recent global restructurings and insolvencies.

He represents a variety of stakeholders, advisers and other parties-in-interest across capital structures, including companies, directors, sponsors, funds, banks, bondholders, agents, ad hoc committees, insolvency practitioners and trade creditors.

As part of his practice, Paul has advised clients in relation to all types of restructurings, insolvency proceedings and work outs, including the structuring and implementation of in court and out-of-court restructurings, formal insolvencies, receiverships, contingency planning, creditor claims, fraud, and cross-border tracing and recovery mandates.

Career highlights have included working on the Chapter 11 of Lehman Brothers, the special administration of MF Global, and the multi-jurisdictional insolvency of the Nortel Networks group.

Speaking of Paul's arrival, RPC Managing Partner James Miller, said: "We are very pleased that Paul is joining RPC. He brings with him a wealth of experience and we look forward to adding his expertise to our first class corporate, commercial and disputes practices.

"We have a particular focus at RPC on handling complex commercial disputes, regulatory challenges, and transactions across retail, insurance, technology, financial services and beyond. These are all areas of serious growth for the firm.

"Paul has got a breadth of knowledge that will complement that focus – we're really looking forward to him getting going."
