RPC strengthens Corporate Insurance and Financial Services team with hire of former Worldpay Corporate General Counsel

City-headquartered law firm RPC has hired former Worldpay Corporate General Counsel Matthew Griffith as a partner in its market-leading Corporate Insurance and Financial Services team.

Matthew has over 19 years' experience handling a broad range of corporate and commercial mandates, predominantly in the insurance and wider financial services sectors. He is an expert in private M&A and other corporate transactions, including Part VII insurance business transfers.

Matthew was most recently Corporate General Counsel at leading global payment services group, Worldpay, and was previously a partner at both Sidley Austin and Pinsent Masons in London.

At Worldpay, Matthew led the corporate legal team and was responsible for delivering a broad variety of support and advice, with a particular focus on UK and international M&A and corporate finance.  In private practice, he supported clients on many strategically important transactions and matters, including acquisitions, disposals, business transfers, reorganisations, investments, distribution arrangements, governance and regulatory matters.

Matthew's hire is the latest in a string of investments RPC has made in its insurance business, and follows closely on from the launch of the independent management consultancy RPC Tyche [from 30 May 2020, RPC Consulting became RPC Tyche LLP] in February 2015 and acquisition of Marriott Sinclair, the software business, in July.
