Tamsin Hyland

Partner

Tamsin leads our insurance wordings team, assisting insurer clients with their products, policy wordings, and associated literature. The team routinely collaborate with colleagues from across the firm – including the corporate, commercial, and regulatory insurance teams – to deliver a holistic service that is fully aligned with the needs of RPC’s insurer clients. Tamsin is widely recognised as one of the market’s leading technical experts in the drafting of insurance wordings.

“Insurance is relevant, pioneering, and a force for good”

“Our wordings offering is borne out of the idea of giving clients a service that’s genuinely aligned with their needs. We form agile teams to give clients specialist technical, business line, and regulatory expertise via a single, properly managed, interdisciplinary team.

The team are regularly instructed to work on global insurance programs, work closely with RPC’s regulatory insurance practice on wider jurisdictional issues affecting insurers, and collaborate with Global Access partners and RPC Asia.

I'm told clients like working with me because I "get" wordings. The reality is, it’s probably because I collaborate well, and am all about helping them navigate complex problems in a commercial, solution-focused manner.

Building trust and sustaining meaningful relationships is why I show up each day. I want my clients to enjoy the experience of working with me and my team, know that I have their back, and be confident that  I will deliver products of which they can genuinely proud.

Tamsin’s recent work highlights:

Working with a start-up MGA on the design and delivery of a suite of new wordings (including schedules, endorsement libraries and associated summaries).

Working for a leading Insurer on the refresh of a life sciences combined insurance product.

Designing a bespoke endorsement structure for use with global reinsurance captive arrangements of a leading insurer client and as part of a wider RPC team, advising on associated complex regulatory and risk issues.
