Samantha is an experienced media lawyer with expertise across media and communication law and regulation. She acts for news outlets, broadcasters, journalists, social media and tech platforms and other organisations seeking to protect freedom of expression and information. She specialises in defamation, privacy, data protection claims, and media regulation, and co-leads RPC's Anti-SLAPP group. Samantha also has experience in intellectual property, human rights, tech disputes and breach of confidence.

Acting for Associated Newspapers Limited in Harcombe and Kendrick v Associated Newspapers Limited, which was a very significant decision of recent years concerning the standards expected of the media and journalists when seeking to rely on public interest as a defence to libel action.

Acting on Bloomberg LP v ZXC, a seminal UK Supreme Court privacy case.
