Senior Associate
Marcela works in our Casualty International team, where she acts for insurers and reinsurers in London and other international insurance markets. Her work has a particular emphasis on matters involving environment, pollution, public interest, product liability and recall, and high-severity events. She has considerable experience representing clients in domestic and international litigation and arbitration, in addition to advising on exposure under primary and excess liability programmes. Marcela’s clients include international insurance and reinsurance companies, corporations in the banking, mining, energy, infrastructure, chemical and manufacturing industries, as well as government entities.

“My work has a very strong international focus and it has given me wide experience with international clients and the international insurance market. In my day-to-day work I deal with claims in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Caribbean.
I consider myself a confident team player, and a competent advocate. I’m extremely focused on understanding client needs, and am always keeping abreast of developments that may affect my clients, their interests and their cases. Strong communication skills are also essential in this role; I’m fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
