“As an employment lawyer, I'm a people person first and foremost.”
“My work is largely involved with the retail and consumer worlds, and focused on giving practical and commercial legal advice to clients in these fast-paced sectors.
There’s frequently a strong international dimension to what I do. I often work with employment and labour lawyers across a range of jurisdictions to give clients advice relating to their workforce worldwide.
I always seek to understand a client’s business but, as an employment lawyer, I'm a people person first and foremost. I really enjoy working with clients to solve their legal employment law issues. My focus is always on providing clear, commercial and concise advice that makes a difference to their people.
Three questions guide my approach to client relationships. What do I need to know in order to understand their needs? How do they want that advice communicated? What can I do now that will help them most in their moment of legal need?”
Jo’s recent work highlights:
Defending a wide range of employment tribunal claims including unfair dismissal, whistleblowing, discrimination, constructive dismissal and breach of contract.
Preparing and delivering employment law training across the workforce.
Assisting various clients with complex internal investigations.
