“We pride ourselves on strict attention to detail and a commercial approach”
“I enjoy the broad nature of my work, and the underlying factual backgrounds to the issues my clients face are interesting. My field in particular means I can learn about geopolitical dynamics around the globe.
I have experience with insurance dispute resolution all over the world, including a multitude of matters arising from the Russia-Ukraine conflict, international civil unrest, terrorism on the African continent, and many more. It requires me to liaise with other lawyers across the world and understand how a variety of different legal systems interact and operate - as well as explain and communicate this to clients.
My team is characterised by forward thinking and a positive mindset. We pride ourselves on strict attention to detail, and a commercial approach to resolving the myriad issues arising from our clients’ matters.
We have a transparent and friendly approach based on viewing issues from the client's perspective rather than treating them as an external entity. It’s also our goal to simplify issues and break problems down into more manageable chunks. The aim is always to connect at a personal and professional level.”
Gabriel’s recent work highlights:
Acting as the lead associate defending an insurer in all respects of multi-billion-dollar claims litigated in the High Court arising from the Russian invasion of Ukraine and alleged loss of Western aircraft by lessors.
Numerous trade credit-related matters including debt sales of sanctioned entities, large-scale shipping trade fraud, non-payment of performance guarantees, and similar issues.
Acting for insurers on multiple political violence policies issued in Ukraine subject to claims following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
