Anson acts for multinational corporations, third party funders, professional services firms and their insurers on a broad range of civil contentious matters including contractual disputes, shareholder and boardroom disputes, professional negligence claims and regulatory matters such as investigations and disciplinary proceedings. Anson has extensive experience in complex international commercial arbitration (under HKIAC and CIETAC). He also has experience in cyber-incident response matters.

Anson's recent work highlights: 

Representing a Dutch technology company in its successful defence of a $10m claim by one of China's largest technology and social media companies in a CIETAC arbitration in Beijing in relation to the alleged breach of a joint venture agreement.  

Representing a Hong Kong education company to successfully resist enforcement of an arbitral award on ground of the tribunal's failure to provide reasons on material issues.

Defending a Big Four accountancy firm in parallel litigation and arbitration proceedings related to claims for over $540m in respect of alleged negligence in carrying out annual audits of a listed PRC corporation.  

Advising a Vietnamese company in relation to a cyber incident involving data theft.
