Reinsurance

With a broad range of experience, we can support your reinsurance needs with facultative and treaty, litigation and arbitration, recoveries, run off, wordings and new products.

Overview

On the contentious side, we advise underwriters and brokers on facultative and treaty reinsurance disputes. We are well-versed in issues such as aggregation, claims control, follow the settlements and wording mismatches and we have guided clients on several high value disputes.

Our reinsurance experts are spread across our offices in the UK and Asia. And, where a solution is needed in a different jurisdiction, we work in hand with our Global Access partners - a network of more than 2,000 lawyers across international jurisdictions, to ensure you get the best possible advice.

On the non-contentious side, our work has seen us advise on reinsurance in both the public and private sectors. We’ve advised on inter-group reinsurance structures, RITC, ILS and SPS structures and issues arising out of Part VII transfers. We regularly advise on reinsurance policy wording review and drafting.
