Handling property damage claims dealing with policy coverage, liability defence, and subrogated recoveries.

Overview

Our property claims team specialises in advising on policy coverage for commercial clients and high-value homeowners across multiple sectors. We handle a broad range of global property risks, from complex, large-scale matters to smaller disputes.

For major losses, we offer a comprehensive service including cause and origin investigations, coverage advice, defence of third-party claims, and pursuit of contribution or subrogation claims.

Our expertise covers issues such as moral hazard, fair presentation, exclusions, fraud, double insurance, and adjustment matters like underinsurance.

Internationally recognised for our expertise in bloodstock insurance and fine art and specie claims, with bloodstock services covering all aspects of equine claims, including loss of use, mortality, infertility, financial loss, and third-party liability.

In fine art and specie, our specialists—members of the Arts Council’s legal panel—handle title and provenance disputes, warranty claims, professional negligence by dealers or auctioneers, and damage or theft during transit or storage. We also address losses from fires, floods, and accidents, helping recover value even in cases without arrests.

Beyond claims, we support clients by stress-testing underwriting processes to mitigate risks and by strengthening policy conditions in line with current legal developments.
