Pro bono

Working with Launch It our lawyers support young entrepreneurs from disadvantaged backgrounds through legal workshops on essential business topics. IP, brand and marketing, commercial contracts and data protection, funding options, employment law and much more. 

As a member of the solicitors' pro bono charity LawWorks our teams are connected with individuals, charities and NGOs requiring pro bono legal assistance. Our UK-based lawyers provide pro bono advice to members of the public on matters of consumer debt and employment law through this platform. 

Also in the pro bono arena we support Liberty, an independent membership organisation and human rights campaign group that challenges injustice and works to protect civil liberties. Our lawyers volunteer on Liberty's advice line that offers free advice to members of the public on topics including human rights, police complaints, surveillance, data protection and related issues such as privacy concerns and employee rights. 

In Asia we enjoy a long-term award-winning partnership with Justice Without Borders (JWB). Our lawyers provide legal services to victims of labour exploitation and human trafficking in the region. We also provide training and ad hoc legal support to migrant workers who face challenges accessing justice as well as Hong Kong corporate governance to JWB itself. 

CLIX disseminates pro bono opportunities (both contentious and non contentious) matching organisations with those who can help them in Hong Kong. Through CLIX we express interest in supporting users in specific areas and are connected with them. It's a helpful tool for disseminating and tracking the valuable pro bono work we do.
